Hampshire County Council - Schools
Ferris Painting Contractors has been working in partnership with Hampshire County Council
under 4 x consecutive framework agreements for the past 15 years and has successfully
delivered projects through-out the County which have included educational establishments;
nursing homes; fire stations and public buildings.
Projects: 2020/21- administered by Hampshire County Council for:
Hampshire Schools: 2 x packages:
• various schools through-out Hampshire over the course of the year. - The packages involved the external redecoration of each school with Teachers/children in-situ.
What did we achieve?
Working in partnership with the Supervising Officer, and whilst considering the needs of the building occupiers: teachers/children/parents/ in-order to mitigate disruption, we successfully delivered the projects safely and on time.
Safely executed projects within a challenging environment
A high level of Client satisfaction from HCC and its users.
How did we help?
Systematic planning and management of the projects was essential keeping in mind key factors:
• Sequencing:
Each site was sectioned into phases, ideally building by building and each phase was programmed paying particular attention to the critical path (the key tasks) allowing sufficient time for: scaffold erection /dismantle; pre-dec repairs; decoration;
Each phase was sequenced in a systematic manner moving from one end of site through to the other and working building by building in a geographical order to minimise disruption to site occupiers/users, by not revisiting the same area unnecessarily.
Each area of work was kept to a confined area and not spread through-out site helping to minimize the movement of plant and machinery and allowing labour to be more productive and efficient.
Each work area including all scaffolding was separated from the site users by adequate fencing avoiding fire exits and pathways and had sufficient safety signage; safety precautions and procedures in-place to ensure good house-keeping .
