Project Overview

Pembroke & Bull were appointed by Beardwell Construction to deliver the internal and external redecoration of 53 Gordon Square — a heritage property forming part of the SOAS University campus in Euston.

Scope of Works

  • Internal decoration to office areas, breakout spaces, art gallery and common parts

  • External redecoration to the full façade

  • Resin repairs to all timber windows using the Repair Care system

  • Concrete and brickwork repairs to ornate cornice and elevations

Challenges & Solutions

Once scaffolding was erected, extensive concrete damage was revealed across the façade. With the return of students fast approaching, Pembroke & Bull surveyed and carried out all additional repairs within the same 12-week timeframe — ensuring quality workmanship without delay to the programme.

Results

The project was completed on schedule and to a high standard, allowing SOAS University to reopen on time. The client was extremely pleased with the finish and praised the team’s flexibility, proactive approach, and attention to detail.
