Tower Bridge, London

Although jokingly referred to as “the Eiffel Tower” in Stan & Ollie, London’s Tower Bridge is easily one of the most iconic structures in the world and one that BSPS was proud to be asked to restore.

The Victorian Grade I listed structure is not only one of the capital’s most famous and popular tourist attractions, but also one of the busiest and most vital crossings over the Thames.

BSPS worked closely with Transport for London as well as the client to ensure that all restrictions and design specifications were adhered to.

Because the bridge is constantly in use, the windows of the towers could not be refurbished with the usual scaffolding, and so specialist tradesmen needed to abseil down the bridge to complete the work outside working hours.

The finished product is now being enjoyed by tourists and locals alike – a towering achievement for all involved.
