Broadgate Estates - External Painting

Exchange House is a ten-storey office block which straddles the Liverpool Street railway lines and effectively forms a bridge. Bagnalls are a long-term approved contractor to Broadgate Estates and have decorated the steel structure at Exchange House for many years.
To access every point of the steel structure, a two-man cradle is used where our operatives inspect every joint, nut and bolt for corrosion and weathering. One elevation is painted per year, during the summer months and the contract extends to ten weeks. Prior to the project commencing, Bagnalls operatives attend a Broadgate Estates in-house training session which dictates the Health & Safety approach when using the cradle on the exterior of the building.
Due to the scale and technical challenge of the project, Broadgate Estates have an appointed senior surveyor, who project manages the annual maintenance/painting of the steel structure.
The steel is cleaned, prepared and inspected for corrosion prior to application. A specialist specification is applied in several stages to achieve the desired result.
