West Highland Housing Association
During 2018, we were pleased to secure a 5-year external decorating contract with West Highland Housing Association (WHHA), providing external decoration and associated repairs to 500 properties. The remoteness and exposed nature of the properties, as well as the weather, brought their own challenges; however, with our in-house directly employed painting and decorating teams, we successfully completed Year 1 to an extremely high standard.
We reviewed site logistics to define the practicalities of safely completing the works, including securing Disclosure Scotland checks and agreeing the most suitable and safe access arrangements. We have a team of six operatives on-site throughout the contract, who will remain in place throughout the duration, ensuring WHHA receives a consistent workforce familiar with the contract.
We work closely with WHHA’s Property Teams, who collect KPIs and customer feedback. We were pleased to achieve over 98% customer satisfaction with our quality, communication and delivery. Our Site Supervisor works in unison with WHHA’s Asset Manager, whereby they meet weekly to review the previous weeks’ work, with any areas of innovation and best practice highlighted along with site communications and risk evaluation via site specific risk assessments and method statements.
As part of the contract, we have also completed internal decoration to WHHA’s sheltered housing properties. With our experience and expertise, we were able to advise WHHA to change the paint specification to solvent-free paints to improve tenant comfort.
We kept the tenants informed of our presence and up-to-date with the works that we would be completing by holding regular tenant meetings, including visits to each property by the Site Supervisor to ensure full communication and that all was well.
