Carillion - Queen Alexandra Hospital - Portsmouth

After 10 years in the planning, this state of the art hospital opened on the 15th June 2009. The new hospital boasts 1400 beds and 27 operating theatres.

The interior design was a crucial aspect and great care was taken in the choice of colours, materials and textures, by far the most prevalent paint used being Dulux Sterishield, chosen for its infection fighting properties.

Sustainability features heavily in the design and great emphasis placed on environmentally friendly systems, such as the Envirowash system and use of bulk containers to reduce paint tin wastage.
