West Smithfield - The Museum of London
A project like no other; transforming the historic Smithfield Market, London’s renowned meat market and once described as 'the grandest parade of market buildings in Europe', to make way for the relocation of The Museum of London.
The extensive and complex work for Hugh Anthony Interiors, spanning 18 months, involved repairs to timber roofs & floors, repair, restoration & decoration of timber windows and a thermal upgrade of glass. As part of the restoration package, all replacement timber used in the refurbishment of the windows was salvaged timber from an old ship yard. Splice repairs and the use of Repair Care products, by our trained carpenters, were methods used for sustainable timber restoration. Decoration by our painters using the Dulux Trade Ultimate Opaque system & internally using the Dulux Trade system.
