70 St. Mary Axe
Lucas painting teams have successfully completed a “shell and core” project on another new tall City building at 70 St Mary Axe, a 21 storey office development dubbed “The can of ham” for its multi scale design.
The new building is within a cluster of tall City buildings, each with their own distinctive shape and silhouette. It has an elegant curving profile with eye-catching exterior fins, and provides some 300,000 sq ft of office space. The building is targeting a BREEAM excellent rating.
We applied protective coatings to all the concrete floors and dust sealed all surfaces in the basement areas of the building and painted all walls, blockwork and concrete throughout. We continued up through the floors painting all the perimeters of the building’s core, lobby and lift areas, and stairs and back of house areas.
The developer is TH Real Estate and the main contractor manager is Mace.
